About the narrow trenching bucket

A narrow bucket for digging utility, cable and drainage trenches. Choose the width, profile and edge arrangement around the required trench and the excavator's reach and mounting.

Features & benefits

01

Narrow shell

A narrower profile forms trenches without using the full width of a general digging bucket.

02

Ground-engaging cutting edge

The cutting edge and teeth engage soil, sand and clay during trench excavation.

03

Purpose-matched width

Different widths and profiles accommodate the required trench shape.

Typical applications

Excavator trenching bucket digging a narrow trench in soil
Narrow bucket excavating a soil trench
  • Utility trenchesExcavate narrow trenches for pipes and cables with a bucket width matched to the required channel.
  • Drainage channelsDig channels and ditches in soil, sand, clay and other light-to-medium material.
  • Confined earthworkUse the narrow profile where a wider digging bucket would remove unnecessary material. This is an excavation bucket, not a rock-crushing tool.

Generic pin-on interface. Check the selected mounting method and the actual machine drawing.
  1. Machine identification — excavator make, model and operating weight.

  2. Pin dimensions — measure both pin diameters and the centre-to-centre distance in millimetres.

  3. Mounting interface — inside width between mounting ears; pin-on or quick-coupler connection.

  4. Working clearance — check bucket width, capacity and clearance throughout the operating movement.

Using a quick coupler? Include its make, model and interface drawing. Confirm dimensions against the actual machine and attachment drawing.

Product questions

Narrow trenching bucket questions

Is a trenching bucket always a deep-dig bucket?

No. Width, depth and shell profile are separate choices. Describe both the trench width and the required excavation depth.

Can I use it to create a V-shaped ditch?

A narrow trenching bucket is not the same as a V-shaped ditch bucket. The shape must be specified for the intended channel.

How do I choose the working width or capacity?

Match the required width or capacity to the work area, material and excavator limits. Check attachment weight and operating clearance alongside the dimensions.

Which mounting information should accompany an enquiry?

Include the machine make and model, both pin diameters, pin centre distance and clear inside mounting width, or the specified quick-coupler interface drawing.
