Product & applications

About the excavator magnet

An electromagnetic lifting attachment for collecting and handling suitable ferrous scrap. Magnetic lifting figures vary with material form and temperature.

Features & benefits

01

Sealed coil assembly

Moisture-resistant sealing protects the electromagnetic assembly.

02

Manganese-steel protection

A manganese-steel fender protects the assembly and provides magnetic isolation.

03

Treated, insulated coils

Specially treated coils use Class C insulation.

04

60% rated duty cycle

The specified rated duty cycle is 60%; it is not a continuous-duty rating.

Typical applications

Scrap-steel handling with an excavator-mounted lifting magnet
Scrap-steel handling with an excavator-mounted lifting magnet
  • Scrap-metal recyclingCollect suitable ferrous scrap for sorting and recovery.
  • Metal debris cleanupRemove suitable iron and steel debris from accessible work areas.
  • Material-yard handlingHandle eligible ferrous material with the electrical supply and lifting arrangement matched to the selected model.

Electromagnet power and material-specific lifting figures

Lifting figures are separated by material and cold/hot condition. They do not establish the allowable load of the complete excavator installation.

Installation requirements

Confirm the attachment fits your excavator

Before ordering, send the machine identification and the connection, power and working information relevant to this product.

  1. Excavator and mounting

Match the selected model’s range, magnet weight and actual mounting or suspension frame; provide its interface drawing.

  2. Electrical supply and controls

Confirm the electrical supply and control arrangement for the model’s current and power; do not assume it operates like a hydraulic grapple.

  3. Material and duty cycle

Identify the material form and temperature. The steel-ball, steel-block and iron-filings columns are different lifting conditions.

  4. Complete lifting system

Check the excavator lifting chart at the working radius, attachment mass, connection and load. Magnet-table figures are not the excavator’s permissible payload.

Product questions

Excavator magnet questions

Can it lift aluminium, copper or wood?

This series is intended for suitable ferrous material. Do not select it for non-ferrous metals or non-magnetic loads.

Why are there several lifting-capacity columns?

The table separates steel balls, steel blocks and iron filings, with cold/hot values where stated. They describe different material conditions and must not be treated as one general payload.

Does the magnet rating establish the excavator lifting capacity?

No. Check the complete excavator and lifting arrangement at the intended radius, including the attachment weight.

Is high-temperature capability standard for every model?

Do not assume it. The product description specifies heat-insulation upgrades; a high-temperature configuration needs separate confirmation.
