About the excavator trencher

A hydraulic chain-cutting attachment for narrow pipe, cable, irrigation and drainage trenches. A side auger moves excavated soil away from the trench; the mounting bracket must suit the excavator.

Features & benefits

01

Extended spoil auger

The auger moves excavated soil farther from the trench to reduce soil falling back in.

02

Adjustable working depth

Depth adjustment accommodates different trenching requirements within the selected model’s dimensions.

03

Replaceable mounting bracket

The coupling bracket can be changed for an excavator or skid-steer mounting arrangement.

04

Manganese-alloy cutting teeth

Manganese-alloy teeth form the chain cutting head.

05

Scraper shoe

The scraper shoe helps control splashing soil and gravel near the chain.

Typical applications

  • Pipe and cable routesCut narrow trenches for suitable utility pipe and cable installation.
  • Irrigation linesPrepare trenches sized for irrigation pipe and the project’s burial requirements.
  • Drainage workMatch trench depth and width to the specified drainage layout and ground conditions.

  1. Excavator mounting bracket

Specify the excavator or quick coupler and mounting dimensions; the loader frame shown in the series photograph is not an excavator pin connection.

  2. Hydraulic supply

Compare 16 MPa and the selected 50–100 or 75–100 L/min range with the excavator’s auxiliary circuit.

  3. Attachment weight and clearance

Check 460 or 520 kg, tool dimensions and clearance through the arm’s working movement.

  4. Trench and ground

Confirm trench width, depth, soil, stones and underground services before selecting the cutting chain and layout.

Product questions

Excavator trencher questions

Can the illustrated loader frame fit my excavator?

It needs the matching excavator bracket. The product description specifies replaceable coupling brackets; the two mounting interfaces are different.

What is the difference between the two models?

The specifications list 915 mm depth and 200 mm width for 36”, and 1220 mm depth and 300 mm width for 48”, with different weights and flow ranges.

Is excavator weight alone enough to choose this trencher?

No. The specification table does not give an excavator weight range. Check attachment weight, mounting, lifting geometry and hydraulic supply for the intended excavator.

Is it a rock saw or bucket?

No. It uses a powered cutting chain and spoil auger to create a narrow trench.
