About the rotating log grapple

A hydraulic rotating grapple with curved tines for gripping, positioning and loading timber. Compare jaw opening, attachment weight and the separate hydraulic requirements for rotation and gripping.

Features & benefits

01

Timber gripping jaws

Curved jaws close around suitable logs for lifting, stacking and loading.

02

Full-circle rotation

The rotating assembly aligns the held timber with the loading or stacking direction.

03

Hydraulic control valves

A motor brake valve and cylinder safety valve control the gripping and rotating functions.

Typical applications

Excavator-mounted log grapple handling timber
Timber handling
  • Timber loadingGrip and reposition logs during loading and unloading.
  • Forestry handlingMove cut timber and branches during forestry operations.
  • Material positioningRotate the grapple to align long material before placement.

Product questions

Rotating log grapple questions

What does powered rotation do?

It changes the orientation of the held timber for stacking, positioning or loading.

Can I select it by the largest jaw opening alone?

No. Compare timber dimensions, load mass, attachment weight and machine lifting limits as well as opening.

Do gripping and rotation need the same hydraulic supply?

They are different functions. Check the required circuits, flow, pressure and controls for the selected configuration.

Is this a forestry harvesting head?

No. This grapple grips and positions timber. A harvesting head includes different cutting, feeding or processing mechanisms.
