About the forestry mulcher

A hydraulic drum attachment for reducing brush, woody debris and fallen vegetation into smaller material. Fixed cutters work around a horizontal rotor; model selection depends on the excavator and its continuous hydraulic supply.

Features & benefits

01

Fixed carbide-tipped cutters

Bolt-on cutters remain fixed during cutting and can be replaced individually.

02

Horizontal working rotor

The drum cuts and grinds brush and woody material close to the ground.

03

Model-specific hydraulic drive

Match the required continuous flow and pressure to the selected rotor configuration.

Typical applications

Vegetation clearing with an excavator-mounted forestry mulcher
Vegetation clearing with an excavator-mounted forestry mulcher
  • Forestry and vegetation clearingReduce brush, fallen timber and ground-level woody vegetation with the horizontal fixed-tooth rotor.
  • Utility corridors and access routesManage eligible woody growth along rights-of-way, roads and access routes.
  • Ground-level site preparationProcess suitable vegetation before later ground work. This drum attachment does not provide a tree shear’s gripping and felling function.

  1. Machine and lifting capacity

Check the model’s machine class and 650, 1000 or 1500 kg attachment weight at the working reach.

  2. Pin or coupler connection

Provide pin diameters, pin centres, clear mounting width and coupler details.

  3. Continuous oil supply

Confirm 90, 150 or 250 L/min at the stated 245 bar operating pressure, with suitable cooling and return.

  4. Motor drain and working clearance

Confirm the motor’s case-drain connection and hose routing; check rotor clearance and guarding.

Product questions

Forestry mulcher questions

How does this differ from a brush cutter?

A drum carries fixed cutters around its horizontal rotor; a rotary brush cutter uses a blade assembly beneath a deck.

Can individual cutters be replaced?

Yes. The documented bolt-on arrangement allows individual cutters to be removed and replaced.

Does machine weight alone determine suitability?

No. Check continuous oil supply, attachment weight, interface and operating clearance together.

Is there one guaranteed tree diameter?

No universal diameter is given here. Material condition and the selected configuration affect the work.
