About the skeleton bucket

An open-grid bucket that lets finer material pass through while retaining larger objects. It provides passive separation and is different from a hydraulically driven rotary screening bucket.

Features & benefits

01

Open-grid construction

Gaps in the bucket let fine material fall through while retaining larger pieces.

02

Digging and separation

The bucket combines pickup and loading with separation of suitable loose soil and stone.

03

Visible retained material

The open structure makes retained stones and debris visible during handling.

Typical applications

Open-grid excavator bucket handling stone and loose material
Separating loose material with a skeleton bucket
  • Stone and soil separationSeparate larger stones from suitable loose soil by allowing fines to pass through the grid.
  • Loose debris sortingSort suitable demolition debris during loading and site clean-up.
  • Landscaping and pipeline workPrepare suitable loose material where larger stones or debris need to be removed.

Confirm this bucket fits your excavator

Send your excavator make, model and operating weight, together with clear photos or a drawing of the mounting interface.

Generic pin-on interface. Check the selected mounting method and the actual machine drawing.
  1. Machine identification — excavator make, model and operating weight.

  2. Pin dimensions — measure both pin diameters and the centre-to-centre distance in millimetres.

  3. Mounting interface — inside width between mounting ears; pin-on or quick-coupler connection.

  4. Working clearance — check bucket width, capacity and clearance throughout the operating movement.

Using a quick coupler? Include its make, model and interface drawing. Confirm dimensions against the actual machine and attachment drawing.

Product questions

Skeleton bucket questions

Is a skeleton bucket a rotary screening bucket?

No. A skeleton bucket has a passive open grid. A rotary screening bucket uses a driven screening mechanism and needs a different hydraulic and application review.

How is grid spacing selected?

Describe the sizes to retain and to remove, material shape, moisture and contamination. Spacing alone does not guarantee a precise screened output.

How do I choose the working width or capacity?

Match the required width or capacity to the work area, material and excavator limits. Check attachment weight and operating clearance alongside the dimensions.

Which mounting information should accompany an enquiry?

Include the machine make and model, both pin diameters, pin centre distance and clear inside mounting width, or the specified quick-coupler interface drawing.
